Bayanni shines as Family man in Debut Ep.

Formally known as Zhenoboy, Bayanni has gone viral as he was recently signed to the number one record label in Africa, MAVIN RECORD. An older woman's voice, with the cliche of motherly prayer, opens his newly released self named four track Ep. The "family" record examines hardship and responsibility. It's very personal and relatable to many listeners. The easy-flowing hook aids replay value. The highlife-inspired "Body" has a similar drum pattern to Wizkid and Maphorisa's "Soweto baby." It's a dance hall influenced with Cathy lyrics. The production of the song supersedes everything else. "Ta Ta Ta" is the best song on this Ep; the record is filled with sexual innuendo. His vocals beguiled the sensuality that was required to deliver those records. The type of ability to emote with vocals, as well as the ability to produce ad-libs like "ah ah ah" to mimic the euphoric breath that emerges during coitus, will serve him well as he progresses in his career. The second verse is a proper madness, and I'd want to hear a Ruger verse on the song. The amapiano-influenced "Kala" closes the Ep. Kala is a remarkable record, and it has that street afrobeat vibes that people love.
All in all, this was an accomplished Ep. It is possibly MAVIN's best Ep since crayon's Ep. It's definitely the writer's fave since Rema's Ep, as all are single-worthy. This Ep proves that Bayanni is going to be a viral superstar.
